Ronaldo Wins the Puskas

I know what you're thinking. You're thinking, "What is a Puskas? And should I be offended?" Well, the answer is "no." The Goal of the Year Award is named after the late Ferenc Puskas and the first annual FIFA Puskas Award went to Cristiano Ronaldo for his long range bomb against FC Porto in the Champions League.

Here are all the goals nominated.

Who do you think should have won? Let us know in the comments.

Messi Wins World Player of the Year

What came as a surprise to no one, Lionel Messi and Marta were named the World Players of the Year. Players from Argentina and Brasil...take that you Eurosnobs.

Behind The Scenes - Blind Keepie Uppie

Last week Oh Danny Boy brought you the original video, and now I'm dropping the behind the scenes on ya.

FIFA World Club Championship

On Saturday night, (at least here on the west coast) Barcelona came from behind to defeat Estudiantes in the final of the FIFA World Club Championship. That brought their trophy count to six for the year. Not too shabby if you ask me.

FIFA World Cup Groups

The first video is an overview with the emphasis on which group is the Group of Death. The following videos break down each group individually.

The Table Is Set

The U.S. received a great draw in Group C drawing England, Algeria and Slovenia. You can see the Groups here. Thanks Charlize for the draw...and your sense of humor.

FIFA 10 on Wii

I bought G-Rant a FIFA game a year or two ago for his Wii and I thought the playing experience sucked. Based on this video, I still think it sucks.

I still don't get how a console that is a generation behind sells units or games.

The Worst FIFA Trailer Ever?

Now, this isn't my style of music at all so it makes me a bit biased. But why drop this after Halloween when you have skeletons knocking around skulls? Let's go to EA for the answer:
Cut to the awesome Ladytron remix of Skeleton Dance by Children Collide now available exclusively with EA SPORTS™ FIFA 10 on PlayStation® here's a special remix video created in true Skeleton Dance style. Check out the action now, with a first look at this hot new clip! For more info visit FIFA.EASPORTS.com

Ok, it makes sense now. This crap is on PlayStation®!

Happy FIFA 10 Day

Today is the release day for FIFA 10 in North America. I really should have taken the day off to play it and watch Champions League. Instead I've been crazy busy at work, so sorry this post is so late in the day. Here is a user created video of Ronaldo in FIFA 10. It plays on the Schweinsteiger video I showed you last week. See you on Xbox Live!

FIFA 10 + Adidas

I think it's pretty cool that EA and adidas have joined marketing forces. I'm also a big fan of Schweinsteiger, he's like the German Beckham.

More FIFA Tutorials

More FIFA 10 tutorials dropped on YouTube today. Plus I needed to get another post up so that a half naked Maurice Edu wasn't the first thing you see.

FIFA 10 Live Season Trailer

My only complaint is that MLS isn't available as Live Season. Come one EA, Major League is in our name!

More On FIFA 10

I spent a couple hours last night playing the demo's for both FIFA 10 and PES 10. I will admit that I've always played FIFA so I know that I can't be unbiased. I've always heard that Pro Evolution Soccer was the real simulation footy game and that EA made FIFA more like an arcade experience. But in recent years I've heard that EA is going after the real footy gamers and trying to become more life like. After only a couple hours I felt that FIFA 10 was more fluid and realistic while PES 10 was the more arcade of the two games. Disclaimer: It did take some getting used to the controls for PES since they are different from FIFA. I Think that both games will provide a quality gaming experience, but FIFA definitely has the cooler commercial. Check it out:

Keep in mind that the North American release date is October 20th, 2009.

Also, it looks like the Dutch National Team will be back!
