No Chance To Boo Marquez

A Certain member of this blog was planning on booing the Mexican international every time he touched the ball on Wednesday night. Unfortunately, he won't be able to because of an injury sustained during training. You might recall the booing of a certain Blanco when Chicago was in town a week and a half ago.

SEATTLE (AP)—FC Barcelona defender Rafael Marquez has a torn muscle in his left calf and will be out for about 15 days, meaning the anchor of Mexico’s defense is likely to miss El Tri’s World Cup qualifier against the United States.
Marquez suffered the injury during light training on Wednesday morning at the University of Washington before Barcelona’s exhibition match with the Seattle Sounders FC. Team officials expect Marquez to miss 10 to 15 days, meaning Mexico’s captain will likely be on the sideline when the U.S. plays Mexico at Azteca Stadium on Aug. 12.
Mexico is fourth in CONCACAF World Cup qualifying, four points behind the second-place U.S. Costa Rica leads the group with 12 points.
The 30-year-old Marquez has been with Barcelona since 2003.
