24 Season 8

24 + Jack Bauer= MAN

Bari vs Inter Milan: Highlights

Inter comeback to spoil Bari's upset.

Roma vs Genoa: highlights

Luca "my name is Luca" Toni does the damage with a 2 goal performance.

Ronaldinho got his groove back

Unlucky for Siena, playing with 10 men against AC Milan... Or should I say, playing with 10 men against Ronaldinho. Siena never really had a chance. Ronny sure does look like his old self again, his strike in the 88th minute was pure class.

*The Rossoneri are within 6 pts of leaders Inter.

Injury crisis for US

Clint Dempsey went down with a knee injury in the 62nd minute versus Blackburn and could have his World Cup hopes shattered. The extent of his injury is still unknown as Fulham boss Roy Hodgeson is waiting on further detail. What do you think of the news? Are you just as frustrated as I am? This will certainly test the depth of the US National Team.

Barcelona vs Sevilla highlights

Barcelona showing their class before and during the match. Barcelona took a few moments before the game to pay tribute to the people of Haiti.

Manchester United vs Burnley highlights

Dream debut for Mame Diouf as he scores his first for United. Also, Looks like Nani has backflip competition. With news of the massive debt, United fans needed a little ray of sunshine and got it in a win. Now, they face bitter rivals Manchester City on Tuesday in Carling Cup play at Eastlands. Not only do they face the blue side of Manchester, but they face ex United forward Carlos Tevez. Tevez will no doubt be looking to spoil their visit as he has some bitter feelings towards Alex Ferguson. Could be a few red cards in that game.

Everton vs Manchester City Highlights.

Everton put on a blue collar performance and gave City fits. Great result for Everton and another positive performance by Landon Donovan.

Lucky Number 7 for Chelsea

Chelsea sent a message to all it's rivals on it's title intentions, by defeating a pitiful Sunderland 7-2.
Big win, big statement, huge eye opener. Chelsea just has to many weapons and I can't see them giving up the title lead. What do you think? Is this the resurrection year of Chelsea Football Club?

MUSE: Uprising

Totally makes me think of the old Dr. Who theme song. I think that's why I like it so much.... Not to mention that it's Muse and they are absolutely brilliant. Enjoy.

Simao capped off a 2 goal night with a brilliant 84th minute strike that booked their improbable place in the Copa del Rey quarterfinals. What an amazing comeback.. is this what they need to get their season back on track?

Running Blog of the 2010 MLS Superdraft

1 -Philadelphia Union picks: Forward, Danny Mwanga out of Oregon State University. Great reception by the Sons of Ben, as they sing and chant for Mwanga.

2 -New York Red Bulls select Midfielder, Tony Tchani from University of Virginia as the 2nd overall pick.

3 -With the 3rd overall pick, the San Jose Earthquakes take Defender, Ike Opara from Wake Forest.

5 - FC Dallas select midfielder Zach Loyd from North Carolina with the 5th pick.

Philadelphia Union now have back to back picks acquired via trades.

6 -  The Union select Midfielder Omobi Okugo from UCLA with the 6th pick. I guess Essien is his homey.

7 - With pick number 7, the Philly Union choose Forward, Jack McInerney from the U-17 National Team.

8 - The Columbus Crew have selected Dilly Duka from Rutgers. What's the Dilly yo? Wow, Rob Stone just dropped Jersey Shore on the telecast when talking about Duka.

9 - With the ninth overall pick, the New England Revolution select forward Zack Schilawski from Wake Forest.

10 - Chivas USA take Blair Gaven from Akron with the 10th pick.

11 - Seattle Sounders FC select midfielder David Estrada from UCLA.

12 - With their 2nd pick of the the 1st round the Columbus Crew select Forward, Bright Dike (pronounced Dikay) from Notre Dame.

13 - The lucky number 13 pick goes to the Chicago Fire, who select Corben Bone from Wake Forest.

14 - The New York Red Bulls have their second pick of the first round which is the 14th overall. NYRB select midfielder Austin da Luz from Wake Forest. White Kix will like this guy, he listens to LFO.

15 - The LA Galaxy have apparently switched picks with RSL. We'll see...
The first trade! LA Galaxy trades the 15th pick and the 2011 3rd round pick for RSL's 16th 2010  pick plus Clint Mathis. RSL selects Colin Warner from Portland with the 15th pick. LA Galaxy take Michael Stephens from UCLA with the last pick of the first round.

South Africa 2010 promised to be safe

Danny Jordaan assuring 2010 World Cup in South Africa will be safe. After the unfortunate incident in Angola, they need to take every precaution to keep teams and fans feel at ease.

Soccer Grannies

I think this is awesome, these grannies are doing work! Makes me miss my Bakigulas.

Barcelona wins, Sevilla through on aggregate

Barcelona are out of the Copa del Rey even though they managed to win the match 1-0. Sevilla moves on to the next round 2-2 on aggregate. After all the success Laporta's side had last year, it's almost unexpected to see them lose. Yes, I know they still have plenty of silverware to win this season, but it's like I almost expect them to win all the time. You spoiled us last year Barca.

Newcastle United through to 4th round.

Lovenkrands bags 3 for the Magpies, sending Plymouth Argyle out of the English tournament. Good to see Newcastle playing well again, hope to see them in the Premiership next season where they belong.

I know the clip isn't highest of qualities, but it was all I could find.

Reading over Liverpool in FA Cup replay

After going down 1-0 to an own goal by defender Ryan Bertrand, Reading battled back equalizing in the 90th minute as Midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson put away the penalty sending the match into extra time. It was bad news for Liverpool as forward Shane Long's well timed header put the game away, sending Rafa's boys out of the FA Cup. If things couldn't get any worse for Liverpool, Forward Fernando Torres went down with an injury in the 29th minute and Steven Gerrard never made it for the 2nd half as he too went out due to injury. What a disaster for Liverpool, which begs the question... How many more lives does Manager Rafa Benitez have? Is it time for a shake up? Liverpool supporters have got to be on their last.

Liverpool defense get's tooled for the game winner. No bueno.

Chamakh agrees Liverpool deal

According to Mirror Football Marouane Chamakh has agreed to a transfer deal to Liverpool FC worth £25million this summer. The Anfield side appears to have fought off clubs such as Arsenal, Juventus, Inter Milan and West Ham United. What do you think of the news, with all the selling Rafa and company have been making is this a good sign for the club or is this still not enough? For those of you who have never heard of Marouane Chamakh, check out some of these highlights.

The Full Generation Adidas Class

MLS officially announced their full class of Generation Adidas players and one name that I immediately noticed was missing is the 2009 Young Male Athlete of the Year, Luis Gil. The U.S. U-17 World Cup midfielder was a hot prospect for MLS and Ives even had him as a first round pick. Well now it looks like the kid might be skipping the domestic league and trying to land in Europe. Rumors have been around for a while now that he would cross the Atlantic, but now I see two options:
1) Stay at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL for another year, or
2) Sign with a European squad...after all, they have youth AND reserve teams.

Everton through to round 4 as Landon arrives.

Landon Donovan was in the stands to see his new side's win over Carlisle United (League One) in F.A. Cup round 3 action. James Vaughan was the first to put Everton in the lead after picking off an embarrassing back pass from Adam Clayton in just 12 minutes from the start of the whistle. If David Moyes' side thought this was a taste of things to come they were sadly mistaken. The Cumbrians proved to be a worthy adversary and Kevan Hurst was the man to prove that. In just 6 minutes after Vaughan's goal, Hurst put away Adam Clayton's long range bomb that Tim Howard could only parry in the path of Hurst, which he put away from a yard out. As the game wore on Everton grew increasingly frustrated until Tim Cahill put the Toffees ahead in the 82nd minute. Leighton Baines added the insurance goal with a 90th minute penalty that made sure Carlisle's dream of advancing was laid to rest, and gave the blue side of Liverpool a sigh of relief. No word yet if Donovan will feature in the match against Arsenal on January 9th.
